Community Involvement

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Neighbors Helping Neighbors partners with Family Service Association to assist families in our neighborhood.  This group is looking for participants who want to evolve and become a better working partner.  We coordinate with other social service groups in the area.  Contact LyLith Schneider at (210) 696-0834.

Parish Nurse

The Parish Nurse provides medical information and education concerning medical and life issues to parishioners. This may include one-on-one time with individual parishioners, workshops for groups of parishioners or the general public, visiting parishioners. The parish nurse does not provide direct medical care but consults with and educates the parish. Contact LyLith Schneider at (210) 696-0834.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity partners with churches to build affordable housing for those in need.  St. Francis is a participant for the local area and can always use an extra pair of hands.  Contact Ralph Schleicher at (210) 673-5842.

Outreach Committee

Outreach Committee helps refugees in our community as well as parishioners with things such as transportation to church.  Contact Scott Huddleston at (210) 520-1951 or Oksana Snow at (210) 492-2278.

International Community Garden

The International Community Garden directly involves not only the nearby refugee community but an ecumenical group of churches who help the refugee community to learn how to grow vegetables and fruits that will flourish in the South Texas heat.  Contact Bill Luckhurst at (210) 281-5195 or Patricia Brown (210) 818-3150.
