“An Evening of Hope— Paving the Journey” is the theme for the eighth annual Magdalena House Gala on Saturday, October 24. This primary fundraising event supports Magdalena House throughout the year, since they do not take any local, state, or federal money.
As you know, Magdalena House is a transitional home that serves mothers and their children who have fled dangerous and abusive lives by providing transformation through safe and stable housing, education, and a nurturing community. They work with mothers escaping family violence and human trafficking, those aging out of foster care, those in the Child Protective Services system, and those facing homelessness. They rescue the least and the lost, sharing hope for a new beginning. Bishop Lillibridge and his wife are strong supporters of Magdalena House.
The gala will be at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort and Spa. It includes dinner with nohost cocktails, and a live and silent auction. Cecilia [Gonzales] and I attended this event for the first time last year and had a wonderful time. Many groups and individuals shared in the fun and excitement of helping this wonderful ministry.
This year we invite you to join us in having a St. Francis table. We already have three signed up and are looking for seven more. Could we even have two tables? Tickets are $125 per person. Friday, October 9, is the deadline for reservations. Call or email me for further information and to sign up. If you are unable to attend the gala and would like to make a donation, that would be welcomed.
