Feeding our neighbors

Food Pantry

The St. Francis Food Pantry’s mission is to provide nutritional food to those who are hungry in our surrounding community. Our Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays and  from  9 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.  No form of ID is required. To volunteer for the food pantry, volunteers must attend a mandatory training at the SA Food Bank. Food Bank truck distributions
(Currently closed due to COVID 19)

St. Francis hosts a Food Bank distribution six times a year. We partner with the San Antonio Food Bank to provide a truckload of healthy food to hungry families.  At each distribution, we typically serve 5 to 6 tons of food to approximately 120 families.  Volunteers help in various ways: loading cars, breaking down pallets of food into family-sized portions, and administrative paperwork.  Others direct traffic or drive recipients home (many of our local refugee families walk to get to St. Francis) with their groceries.  It’s hot work, but very rewarding.  If you would like to help, contact the church office.
